Nikki Powers Said: Love this book; was in great shape ( Aug. 24th 2010 )
I believe that the book was pretty much as described. There were a few small marks on some of the pages, other than that...it was in great condition. Glad I finally ordered this book
Mandyhope Said: Great resource! ( Jul. 6th 2010 )
I use this book to help prepare my curriculum each year and to help keep on track throughout the year. I would recommend this to anyone who does not use a packaged curriculum for all subjects. We use real-world books for U.S. history and science, and it's helpful for coming up with topics. I take those topics and check the library and homeschool supply sites to develop my IHIP (NY state requirement). This book contains a few book recommendations for each subject, but it's only a beginning guide. I highly recommend it as a stating point for selecting material.

Starting homeschooling my 4, 8 & 6 year olds and was wondering what to teach when they need to learn things and where can I find this information. This book did not contain that information is lists books and other information that you can find your self online or in basic homeschooling books. So its just sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
A. Konsor Said: Good, Could be updated ( Jun. 14th 2010 )
I just received this book in the mail about a week ago and have been pouring over the resources listed for the early education (Pre-k and Kindergarten). I like the detailed ideas for what children should know at certain ages. I especially like that Rupp emphasizes that each family should choose which milestones are most important to them and format their schooling that way. I am very new to homeschooling books and research, so I am not sure how this book stacks up to others of this kind.
My criticism of this book is that, since it was written in 2000, many of the website resources are no longer in existence, and there are probably many newer websites that have a lot to offer. I would love to see a new edition of a book of this nature.

My daughter has started homeschooling two of my grandchildren, so I was curious as to what subjects would be covered. This book clearly outlines subjects by grade and gives links for obtaining more information about each. I think this will be a great help in my ability to keep up with what they're learning and perhaps even to think of activities that will enhance each subject.
