Question #1:
How to increase stock resolution on new asus n53 laptop?
Hi,I recently purchased a new laptop, and need help increasing the screen resolution. The laptop is an ASUS N53J, the specs are as follows:
-Intel i5-450M 2.4GHz
-4gb Ram
-Nvidia Geforce GT 335M 1 gb
-500gb hd
-15.6" HD/LED backlit screen
-Blu ray
-Win 7 premium
It's a pretty fantastic laptop, save for the relatively low maximum resolution. My computer knowledge is pretty basic so I hope this isn't a question with a blatantly obvious answer.
Is it possible to increase the maximum resolution beyond the stock maximum: 1366x786
Also, for my own knowledge, what limits max resolution? Screen size, GPU, etc.
Thanks in advance,
Luke
Question #2:
Please. Could use help with french homework.?
So i have one day to write a 3 paragraph essay. I need to describe my friend. Physically, personality, and what he likes. I know the verbs like aime, faire and aller. Very basic second year stuff (for some people).I'm not asking you to do it for me (unless you want to, but i don't see why you would) . I'm not asking you do describe someone you don't know. But rather give me some inspiration, new verbs and correct usage. I really want my paper to stand out. Thanks
Question #3:
Do you have to pass the 1-1-1 pt test before going to basic?
I know they give it to you again once you ship at reception. I took it today at my recruiters office and failed the mile run. Do I have to pass the 111 before I can ship?Yeah, I have no problem with sit ups and push ups, hell if it wasent for running I could take the 2 2 2 and get promoted. I just suck at running right now, last time I ran a mile was like 8th grade.
And the question is do you have to pass one with your recruiter BEFORE basic? Branch is Army btw.
Lol, that would be some funny stuff if I got sent to the fat kid running group, seeing as I only weight 113 lbs xD
Question #4:
What should I put in my soup?
I'm a big fan of "what do I have in my fridge lets just throw it all in a pot" soup. I have basic ingredients for chicken soup (chicken, broth, noodles). But, my dear yahoo community, I'm leaving the rest up to you. What should I stick in there? I can get other ingredients if I have to, but in my fridge I have:white onions
zucchini
corn
potatoes
carrots
celery
broccoli
parsley
oregano
basil
bay leaves
milk & flour (If you all decide on a chowder)
Someone mentioned garlic, which sounds delicious, but I'm a little worried about it being overpowering. thoughts?
oh, I also have peppers
Question #5:
New to java need advice?
I am fairly new to java but I've been programing with basic for years. I'm getting frustrated at points but I finally got my first good program. It's a command line number guessing game. The game works great or at least it does what I wanted. I guess my question would be weather or not I did everything right. Even tho my code compiles and runs maybe I didn't follow all accepted practices. I would just like some tips and pointers to help me in the future. Here is a pastebin of my code NumGuess.java :

Question #6:
Can I use my food stamps to buy "smokes"?
This economy has hit the outhouse building trade pretty hard. I figure I can go on a severe diet and use the food stamps for cigarettes. My 3 toddlers can forage for food in the Domino's dumpster 4 blocks over. It builds "character" and a sense of "accomplishment" in the little guys when they don't have to sponge off me and the old lady for their basic needs.Question #7:
Whats your favorite meal?
I am trying to figure out wat to have for dinner, any basic meal ideas? What do you like?Question #8:

Well my fiance is at Basic Training. Im in college right now, so i dont have a great amount of money to use. But She graduates in a month and 10 days and i promised i would be there for her. I cant take a plane over there since it is way too much. The train is a second option but that will take about a day to get there. and this graduation is on a Thursday. She is in Fort Jackson, SC and im the way here in Illinois. Please, if you have any suggestions on how i can see her. Also, driving could be an option. I got about 118,000 mi. on my car and i dont know if SC would be too mountainous. Plz comment.Question #9:
Why are Wiccans the nicest people out of all the religions?
Out of all the people I have met in life, Wiccans are nicer than people of most other religions (Buddhism being the only other). The only tenets they are held to are "harm none" - much less than other religions, but yet they seem to be the most spiritual. It is not just words, but they truly hold themselves to a higher standard of peacefulness and understanding. Why is it people of other religions fall so short of their basic tenets?Let me guess - your all christian right?
The comment added is for those who chose to say something rude instead of offering and insight.
Btw, I am an adult who has met a lot of people through religious groups (not a secluded school age person).
Sorry Crybaby Atheist for not showing you the individualized attention you obviously so desire; btw I am not wiccan.

Question #12:
Is my 2 yr old advanced?
I know all parents think their kids are geniuses, but I am just wondering if the things my son does are normal for his age? We don't really have anyone to compare him to and I hate to ask other parents for fear of sounding like I'm gloating, so I thought I'd ask here...My son is 2 years and 4 months now. Here are a few of the things he does that we think aren't "normal" for is age.... he has been pluralizing words in the right context since 20 months, he uses verb tenses in the right context (eg. walks, walked, walking), he fully understands concept of under, over, beside, behind, etc., he knows at least 17 letters (recognizes them and knows most sounds), he knows all the basic colors, he can count to 10 on his own and counts objects up to 6, he understands how traffic lights work (red means cars stop, green means cars go & and tells us how many cars are stopped), understands weather (eg. rain, thunder, lightning comes from clouds), understands bigger/smaller, taller/shorter, etc.,
The list goes on. Is this normal for a 2-yr and 4-mo child? Thanks!

Are "real" Muslims actually peaceful?
I read and hear all about how "real" Muslims are actually peaceful. It seems that moderate Muslims are peaceful, but the actual religion as a whole encourages violence and religious conquest. I am in no way trying to insult Muslims, I just don't know a ton about it except the basic story of its origin and want to know why I don't ever hear about good things Muslims do.Question #16:

Question #17:
Need a Basic Tutorial on Odds?
Ok, I've been hanging around this forum for a while and answering a lot of questions, but I'm more of a Poker gal than sports.I'm in a casual office pool at work and I'm trying to fill out my NFL pick sheet so I tried to look up some odds on ESPN so that I'm making more than random guesses. However I just don't understand how to read the odds that are presented on most sites. Can someone knowledgable here explain how to read this:
Minnesota @ New Orleans
bodog.comSportsInteraction5DimesSBGGLOBAL
OpenCurrentCurrentCurrentCurrent
51.5 O/U48.5 O/U48.0 O/U48.0 O/U48.0 O/U
-4.5-6-6-5-5
So, what do all those fancy numbers mean? I don't really care about point spreads. I just wanna know who's favored to win.
Question #18:
Having a moderately large party, what to do?
Mmmk, I'm having a after exams party. Everyone is 17-18 so there will be drinking. There will be around 40 people and we've got a DJ set up. I've been to smaller parties where we have played small drinking games etc. and they have always added to the fun. So my basic question is, what sort of activities do you think i could set up that won't be too difficult to organize with a large number of people?Question #19:
Please tell me what expression this means?

The Iphone4's only weapon is it's higher resolution screen, faster CPU, and popularity. Hoho,
What I don't understand is the "Hoho," or what it's supposed to mean.
- Thanks
