Question: Community Involvement Hours - Easy ways?
( Back )
Answer #1:
Well, according to the document below, your community service hours can include work with any non-profit organisation. There are lots of arts-related non-profits, so if you are interested in music or public festivals, etc, that's a great way to build up hours. For instance: you could find out about parades or festivals in your city and volunteer in the office before the event (doing mailings, postering, etc), or volunteer on the day as a site volunteer. You could easily get 10 hours per festival, which would be your full credit requirement in no time.
There are also lots of community concerts, fundraisers etc that are run out of community centres or city-run concert halls that benefit non-profit orgs, so you can volunteer taking tickets, doing front of house, etc, and get hours that way. If you like other types of art, you can volunteer at a city-run or non-profit art gallery.
